Lajamanu, with a population of approximately 750 people, is located around 560 kilometres south-west of Katherine. Access from Katherine is via the sealed Buntine Highway for most of the journey, with the final approximately 100 kilometres on an unsealed road.
The objective of the proposed upgrades is to improve the functionality, safety and serviceability of the Lajamanu Aged Care Centre. The proposed works include, but are not limited to, general building upgrades, laundry and toilet upgrades, the supply and installation of new equipment, fencing and gate works, flooring works, patching and painting, civil pavement works, infrastructure upgrades, cool room-related works, and all associated works.
