Alexandrina Council invites Tenders for the provision of detailed engineering design services for the Finniss Milang Road Upgrade.
As part of the Australian Government's Black Spot Program, Finniss-Milang Road has been selected for safety upgrades in response to a demonstrated high crash history.
The project extent covers approximately 11.5 km of roadway. The existing sealed pavement is just over 7.0 m wide, with no sealed shoulders and no edge line marking, resulting in minimal recovery space for wayward vehicles.
Given that a significant proportion of crashes have occurred at night and in wet conditions, improved delineation of the trafficked surface is required to enhance driver awareness and guidance. This will be achieved through the provision of sealed shoulders, edge line marking and retroreflective pavement markers (RRPMs) to improve visibility and assist drivers in maintaining lane position.
The Council will enter into an Agreement for these Services with the successful Tenderer.
