Town of Walkerville Street Sweeping Services

⁠⁠⁠The Town of Walkerville’s Street Sweeping Program is an essential service that supports public safety, amenity, stormwater asset protection and environmental outcomes across the Council area.

The regular removal of leaf litter, organic material and general debris reduces hazards to pedestrians, cyclists and motorists, and assists in minimising incidents, accidents and associated claims.

Street sweeping also plays a critical role in protecting Council’s stormwater infrastructure by preventing leaves, nuts and litter from entering side entry pits, junction boxes and downstream treatment devices. This reduces the risk of blockages and contributes to improved water quality outcomes within the River Torrens catchment.

Clean, safe and well-maintained streets and footpaths also enhance Walkerville’s streetscape presentation and support its attractiveness as a place to live, visit and conduct business.
