Fine Arts Dust Extraction Replacement

⁠⁠⁠BACKGROUND

University of Canterbury Fine arts block 3 contains a woodworking workshop with numerous machines generating wood dust and airborne wood particles. The large amount of airborne particles within the workshop currently poses a health and safety risk to staff using the workshop and students learning within the space.

The university aims to have a workshop extract system that removes all risk to students and staff by removing as much of the airborne particulates from the space as possible. In order to do this, there is a need for a functional and efficient extraction system.

There is a currently installed dust extract system which upon survey was underperforming significantly due to an undersized fan and aging ductwork.

WHAT WE REQUIRE: THE SOLUTION

We seek the services of a main contractor to carry out the following works:

1. A main contractor to supply and install the dust extract system.

2. A contractor that seriously considers safe and accessible maintenance requirements.

3. A contractor that has a proven track record of working with clients to achieve the required outcomes.

4. A contractor capable of working within the University’s unique environment.

5. A contractor that can deliver high quality material outcomes to the University.
