Tender Description
The Council of the City of Sydney ("the City") invites tenders for the carrying out of Lighting Services for Sydney New Year's Eve in accordance with this Request for Tender.
Sydney New Year's Eve is one of the most celebrated events in the world, attracting millions of spectators both in-person and via broadcast. To support the delivery of a visually stunning experience, this project seeks a lighting services provider to deliver professional lighting design and installations across key locations on Sydney Harbour.
Core Services: Sydney Harbour Bridge – Eastern Side
The primary requirement is the design, supply, installation, and de-installation of a lighting display on the Eastern Side of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. This high-profile location plays a central role in the New Year's Eve celebrations and is a focal point for live audiences and television coverage. The lighting design should highlight the bridge's structure and complement the broader creative direction of the event, including fireworks and multimedia elements.
Additional Services:
To further enhance the harbour-wide experience, the following optional lighting elements may be required in accordance with the Schedule of Rates for Additional Services:
Luna Park Ferris Wheel: Programming of lighting sequences to align with the bridge display and contribute to the overall festive atmosphere.
Sydney Harbour Lights (vessel parade): Lighting support for participating vessels, enabling coordinated or themed illumination to boost visibility and spectacle across the water. Note that Sydney Harbour Lights is produced by the Australian Commercial Marine Group (ACMG).
Sydney Harbour Bridge – Western Side
An additional option is available to light the western side of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. This display will be more limited in scope but aims to extend the visual impact of the event for audiences.
Term
The Service Provider will be engaged for a period of five (5) years covering Sydney New Year's Eve 2026 to 2030, with an option to extend for a Further Term of two (2) years to cover the 2031 and 2032 events.
Tenderers must submit tenders in the manner required by the RFT.
