Supply and Installation of Coloured Pavement Coating and Treatment

⁠⁠⁠The Works consists of, but is not limited to, the following activities at various sites across the City of Gold Coast:

• Preparation of the road pavement and traffic management area prior to painting (e.g., pressure cleaning, acid washing and grinding etc.).

• Specialist painting using a product containing hybrid acrylic polymers with epoxy cross linked systems or other approved alternate products.

• Traffic/Pedestrian Management and implementation of the TMP and TGS.

• Establishment / Disestablishment of site.

The Works include the supply and installation of Coloured Surface Treatments (CST) to various road pavements where a specific use is to be highlighted such as on the following surfaces:

• cycleways / bike lanes

• public transport corridors

• where a decorative effect is required

• footpaths

• traffic management areas

• various sporting courts

• kerbs and channels

• built-in and moveable garden walls, raised garden beds

• pedestrian crossings

• thresholds treatments for school zones

• concrete swimming pool surfaces and surrounding areas

• other hard upstand and flat surfaces e.g. artworks and concrete seating.

The Works also include the supply and installation of High Friction Surface Treatment (HFST) on pavements and surfaces where very high slip resistance is required.

The Contractor must provide when required traffic/pedestrian control in accordance with site specific Traffic Management Plans (TMP) and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS) which will involve the supply of traffic controller(s) and fully equipped signage trucks for signing part and / or full road closure and moving work site(s).

.The Contractor must include the pressure cleaning of the kerb and channel joined to but not extending from the traffic management area identified for painting.

The Superintendent may specify alternate paint types and colours; Confirm with the Superintendent all paint types and colours on site prior to application.

The Principal reserves the right to request and accept quotations from within the Contract, outside of the Contract, or internally perform/organise associated activities at any time throughout the Contract term as and when required.

When selecting a Contractor the Superintendent may consider capacity and capabiltiy of a Contractor to meet Principal’s timelines, operational requirements and complexity of projects, or any selection criteria listed by the Principal in order to achieve the most advatageous outcome for the City.
