Tender Description
AGL Energy is seeking suitably qualified and licensed contractors to provide lead acid battery disposal services for the Liddell Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) site as part of operational readiness and site remediation activities.
The scope includes, but is not limited to:
- Collection, handling and transport of lead acid batteries from the Liddell BESS site
- Provision of compliant containers, packaging and labelling for hazardous waste
- Safe loading, transport and disposal or recycling at an approved licensed facility
- Provision of waste tracking documentation and certificates of disposal or recycling
- Compliance with all relevant environmental, transport and hazardous waste regulations
Suppliers must demonstrate:
- Appropriate licences and approvals for handling and transporting hazardous waste
- Experience managing lead acid battery disposal in industrial or energy environments
- Compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), WHS and environmental legislation
Battery quantities, sizes and collection timing will be confirmed prior to engagement. This work package relates to disposal and transport services only and does not include battery installation, commissioning or operational battery management.
