Scope of Works
To progress the ongoing rehabilitation of the sewer network the following works need to be undertaken and will form part of the contract.
a) The pressure cleaning of the access chambers and manholes if nominated and sewer mains including the removal and disposal of all debris at the Ayr / Brandon Wastewater septic receival point.
b) The contractor shall then inspect and take C.C.T.V. videos of approx. 4,520m’s of sewer including approx. 117 house connections, refer P.S.9 & P.S.10 Area Plans. These figures were taken from council’s asset register which may have a slight discrepancy to the actual length and number of connections. The contractor and council shall review the footage and prepare a list of sewers which require relining by conducting a condition assessment using the guidelines in Appendix -D to complete the relevant areas in Schedule - A. Council’s total budget for the proposed works is $800,000 excl. G.S.T. including inspection and relining.
c) Once the video has been reviewed and a list compiled, it is anticipated that the relining crew will follow appropriate 4 weeks behind the video crew. Should insufficient sewers be located in the inspected area, council has carried out inspections in other areas and prepared a list of sewers to be relined, refer Brandon P.S.1. through Brandon P.S.6 Area Plans. This list is contained in Schedule – A along with the list of sewers to be inspected. These additional sewers will be selected on a as required basis to ensure the contractor is given works to the full value of the contract.
d) Tenderers shall tender rates for
- Fold and Form P.V.C.
- C.I.P.P. with steam
- C.I.P.P. with U.V.
for all lines. Council shall select a final treatment to be used for all lines unless it obvious that a particular sewer requires a particular treatment..
e) The cost of relocation to the area of additional sewers shall be costed separately in the B.O.Q.
f) Any liners and junctions that it is deemed necessary to remove shall be transported to the kirknie landfill approximately 17km upriver from the Burdekin River bridge on the Home Hill side. Council will provide a code for the landfill charges to be charged too by the landfill operators. It is not anticipated that any existing liners will require removal.
g) The Contractor shall be the Principal Contractor for the Contract and
The Contractor shall preparation and implement the Traffic Management Plans in compliance with T.M.R. regulations, Environmental and Community Consultation Plans. Such plans must be provided to council for review prior to commencement of works.
h) Council can provide video of the existing sewers which can be viewed by emailing gary.keane@burdekin.qld.gov.au. a drop box for the videos to be download too.
i) The in-situ structural relining of the sewer mains & manholes.
j) Restoration of and sealing of access chambers/manholes to prevent ingress of ground water, egress of sewage, and provide structural integrity.
k) Submission of “as constructed” details in a format approved by the Principal.
A fixed price, schedule of rates shall be provided for:
- The cleaning, C.T.V.V. video, condition assessment of approximately 4520m’s of sewer and prepare a list of sewers to be relined of 150 mm & 225mm diameter (including service junctions).
- The relining of the list compiled above and the cleaning, C.T.V.V. video and relining of the additional sewers listed in Schedule – A to make the total contract value $800,000 excl. G.S.T.
- The relining of 125 m of 225 mm diameter sewer mains (including service junctions)
- Any special works that require work should be detailed here – Nil.
- The relining of 0 Manholes less than 1.5m depth
- The relining of 0 Manholes greater than 1.5m depth
- Repair benching in manholes using high alumina cement or other method approved by Council - Nil.
- Additional CCTV inspections per metre of pipe (150mm diameter sewer main)
- Additional CCTV inspections per metre of pipe (225mm diameter sewer main)
The Technical Specification defines the requirements for the rehabilitation of deteriorated un-pressurised pipelines and manholes by structural lining.
