Statement of Requirements: Enterprise Data Loss Prevention (Microsoft Purview / Intune)
The National Archives of Australia (NAA) seeks to engage a suitably qualified contractor to provide specialist services to implement an enterprise-wide Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solution using existing Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Intune within NAA’s Microsoft 365 environment. This engagement supports the agreed replacement and decommissioning of the existing Trellix DLP solution.
Scope of Work
The contractor will design and implement a modern DLP capability applying consistently across the Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Windows endpoints. The solution will use Microsoft Purview for data classification, DLP policy configuration, monitoring, and reporting, with Microsoft Intune enforcing endpoint controls. Removable media controls, including blocking unapproved USB storage devices and monitoring approved usage, will be delivered as part of the broader DLP framework. The solution must align with APS cloud-first and Zero Trust principles and meet NAA legislative and security obligations.
Deliverables
By end of contract, the contractor must provide:
- An enterprise DLP design using Purview and Intune
- Configured and deployed DLP policies across endpoints
- USB and removable media controls integrated into DLP policies
- Alerting, exception handling, and reporting processes
- Validation and remediation confirming operational readiness
- SOPs and knowledge transfer to the Desktop team
- Project closure documentation

- Enterprise DLP operational by 30 June 2026
- Trellix fully removed from endpoints
- Centralised, manageable DLP controls
- Reduced performance impact and complexity
