Tender Description
The Museum (referred to in this document as the AM or Customer) is located at 1 William Street, Sydney NSW 2010. It is open from 10:00 – 17.00 every day (except Christmas Day), and for private events 7 days a week. William Street is AM’s primary location, however its operations are facilitated through a collection of remote sites that house and provide administrative staff, collection storage, and warehousing at the following locations:
- Rydalmere
- Castle Hill
- Lilyfield
- Oxford St
- Bathurst (x2)
The Australian Museum was established in 1827 and is Australia's first museum. The AM’s collections span both the natural and human worlds, with more than 22 million items representing the natural science and cultures of both Australia and the wider world, with a significant collection of cultural objects from the Pacific regions.
The Museum’s vision is to be a leading voice for the richness of life, the Earth and culture in Australia and the Pacific. Its mission is to ignite wonder, inspire debate and drive change. The Museum plans to welcome over 1.1 million visitors to its William Street site in 2025.
In addition to operating across multiple sites, the AM supports a range of critical systems including scientific research platforms, collection management systems, and corporate services.
Ensuring the availability, integrity, and resilience of these systems is essential to supporting the AM’s operational and strategic objectives.
The AM is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified suppliers for the provision of enterprise ICT infrastructure and managed services.
This procurement will deliver a modernised infrastructure environment, transitioning the AM from a fully leased model to a primarily AM-owned infrastructure platform supported by a managed services provider.
The scope includes:
- Supply of enterprise compute and storage infrastructure
- Infrastructure deployment and migration
- Ongoing managed services and operational support
The successful supplier will be engaged on the Digital NSW ICT Purchasing Framework ICT Agreement (ICTA), which will be structured with an initial term of 3 years with two optional one-year extensions (3 + 1 + 1).
This EOI forms the first stage of a two-stage procurement process, with shortlisted respondents invited to participate in a selective Request for Tender (RFT).
