Fire Gaseous Suppression

⁠⁠⁠Scope of Work

Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified contractors for the provision of Fire Gaseous Suppression systems at brownfield sites, across the Pilbara mines and ports operations. This EOI intends to understand the capacity and capability of the Fire Gaseous Suppression systems market players, to support RTIO’s ongoing projects at brownfield sites, with a particular focus on the supply, installation, construction and/or commissioning.

Geographically RTIO mine sites and ports are located across diverse regions:

• East Pilbara
• Central Pilbara
• West Pilbara
• Coastal Operations

The EOI seeks to understand the capability of contractors who can perform the below works:

• To undertake IG541 & pre-engineered foam suppression system upgrades for 115 assets across 11 RTIO sites including DSL (Dampier Salts Limited)
• Phase 1 installation works to be completed by Q4 2028. IFC package to be provided to successful contractor to supply and install.
• The current Gaseous suppression systems requiring upgrade to IG541 will mainly be FM200 systems but will include a small number of aerosol & C02 systems & a small number of HPU’s with FM200 systems will require upgrading to Pre-Engineered Foam Suppression systems.
• Phase 2 works to follow in FY28 for execution completion in 2030 and will be approximately 138 assets across 11 RTIO sites including DSL (Dampier Salts Limited).
• Upgrades will include asset types of Substations, Switch rooms, Communications rooms, Server rooms & HPUs (Hydraulic Power Units) on fixed and balance machines.
