Project goals

The deployment of SMART drumlines as one measure of shark mitigation under the NSW Shark Management Program to reduce the chances of interactions with target sharks (white, tiger and bull sharks) while minimising harm to sharks and other marine life.

Scope

The daily deployment of SMART drumlines over an approximately 15-km stretch of coast up to at least 30 June 2027. DPIRD will provide the SMART drumlines and iPad-based electronic reporting tool and associated training. The tenderer needs to bring fishing experience and credentials, a safe operating environment, suitably qualified skippers and crew, and suitably accredited fishing vessels
