Tree Maintenance
Tender ID: 610900
Tender Details
Tender Description
The City of Stirling covers an area of 109 square kilometres and is committed to both maintaining and improving the quality of streetscapes and parklands throughout the municipality.
An integral component in achieving a quality maintenance programme is the implementation of approved tree care, control and management techniques within the City of Stirling boundary.
Tree management in urban areas includes a variety of pruning practices to maintain clearances for power lines and for pedestrian and vehicular access, to correct structural problems and to train juvenile trees. Tree removal is required when trees die, when structural problems cannot be corrected by pruning and when a tree’s location conflicts with planned works.
- Parks & Environment and its contractors are primarily responsible for:
- Scheduled (Sector) Pruning - annual scheduled programme for street tree maintenance
- Citywide Tree Maintenance - monthly allocation of tree maintenance tasks managed by the City Trees team. These lists include scheduled works including and not limited to:
- Tree pruning
- Tree removal
- Stump grinding
- City Tree Ad-hoc Requests - requests issued by the City Trees team to address tree maintenance needs that fall outside the scope of the Sector Pruning and Citywide Works Lists programs
- Park and Reserve reactive pruning and removals
- Conservation areas reactive pruning and removals
