Requirements

The supplier will develop and operationalise an end-to-end workflow for managing camera-trap data for Australian Government NRM programs.

This includes:

  • Establishing a system to ingest EMSA camera-trap metadata supplied from the Biodiversity Data Repository (BDR) into the WildObs platform.
  •  Creating processes to ingest and store raw camera-trap images from Regional Delivery Partners (RDPs) and other program users.
  •  Linking image files with EMSA/Monitor metadata held in the BDR to enable consistent analysis.
  •  Implementing automated image analytics using WildObs tools to produce occurrence data.
  •  Returning analytics outputs to RDPs in a usable reporting format (e.g., Excel).
  •  Delivering ABIS-compliant occurrence records back to the BDR for long-term storage and re-use.

Key deliverables:

  • Metadata ingestion pathway operational between BDR and WildObs.
  • Image ingestion and storage system established for Commonwealth-funded projects.
  • Automated analytics workflow producing species occurrence data.
  • Return of analytics outputs to RDPs.
  • Delivery of ABIS-compliant data to BDR.

Desired outcomes:

  •  A consistent method for capturing, storing and analysing camera-trap data.
  •  Reduced loss of Commonwealth-funded camera-trap datasets.
  • Improved long-term biodiversity monitoring through standardised occurrence data linked to EMSA.
