Tender Description
The Shire of Augusta Margaret River (Shire) requires the services of an appropriately qualified contractor to perform a replacement Jetty on steel piles, with steel and Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) supporting frame and Timber deck.
A mandatory tender briefing will be held at 10.00am (AWST) Wednesday 15 April 2026 to provide prospective tenderers on site context and to clarify the scope of the works. Respondents are required to advise their intention to attend the briefing by emailing ltanis@amrshire.wa.gov.au by Monday, 4:00pm (AWST), 13 April 2026.
The proposed Jetty is approximately 33m long and will be connected back to the existing concrete footpath.
The Works under this Contract shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:
- Preparation and implementation of appropriate management plans.
- Removal of the existing jetty, including sorting and stockpiling existing timber members (excluding piles) for reuse.
- Clearing and earthworks.
- In-situ concreting for a new concrete abutment.
- Supply and installation of steel piling, including corrosion protection.
- Supply, fabrication and installation of steelwork for the supporting structure.
- Supply and installation of decking, handrail, kerbs, FRP joists and connections.
The Contract includes all operations, labour, plant, material, supervision, survey and everything else required for the completion of the whole of the Works as described in this Specification, as shown on the Drawings, together with any additional work or variations ordered by the Superintendent.
The Shire is open to innovative ways to reduce costs, while retaining the design intent, requirements and character of the existing jetty. Contractors are encouraged to consider alternative solutions but must demonstrate that all design requirements and conditions are achieved.

Shire of Augusta Margaret River is not bound to accept the lowest priced Tender or all or any part of a Tender and reserves the right to conduct the Request for Tender process and select the successful respondent(s) as it sees fit Shire of Augusta Margaret River staff are unable to respond to verbal enquiries in relation to the proposal. Late, verbal or emailed proposals will not be accepted.
