⁠⁠⁠Supply and deliver suitable capping material to the nominated tip area for site remediation works

Project goals

Crown lands have engaged the Soil Conservation Service to remediate this project site as much as possible within a restricted budget, focusing on the initial clearing of visible above ground stockpiles (hot spots), emu-picking any visible pieces of asbestos scattered across the landscape and the capping of old waste burial sites across 3 areas. The objective of this project is to undertake remedial works at this site to prevent exposure of people to asbestos fibres.

Scope

Capping Material Import (Cobar)Supply and deliver suitable capping material to the nominated tip area for site remediation works.

1. Material Supply

•Supply approximately 5,000 m³ of certified ENM or VENM material

Material must:

o Be free of stumps, roots, and vegetation

o Be well graded with particle sizes ranging from 0.15 mm to 75 mm

o Allow a maximum particle size of 150 mm in any dimension

o Contain no more than 15% of material between 75 mm and 150 mm

2. Certification and Compliance

• Provide certification confirming material is classified as ENM or VENM in accordance with relevant NSW EPA requirements

• Ensure material is uncontaminated and suitable for use as controlled fill

• Provide any supporting test results or documentation as required

3. Transport and Delivery

• Load, haul, and deliver material to the tip area located approximately 2 km west of Cobar along the pipeline road

• A traffic management plan must also be supplied prior to works being undertaken.
