Clermont Saleyards Selling Pen Renewals

An invitation is extended to you to submit a written tender for the IRC-E&I-0825-T446 Clermont Saleyards Selling Pen Renewals, hereinafter called “the goods and/or services”.

Tenders must be in accordance with the attached Specification and Criteria. Please ensure your written tender is lodged prior to the Closing Time, being 2pm Tuesday, 28 April 2026 AEST.

All specification, general enquiries and written tenders must be submitted only. Please do not send tender directly to Project Managers, Project team members or other Council staff. All phone enquiry details will be forwarded to the Contracts & Procurement team as a matter of record.

Scope:

Isaac Regional Council is seeking suitable qualified and experienced contractors to undertake the renewal of the Selling Pens within the J.R. Turner Saleyards commonly referred to as the Clermont Saleyard located at 25 Wattle Hill Road CLERMONT QLD 4721.

The saleyards operation actively promotes workplace health and safety. The design incorporates standards for the safe, efficient handling and care of livestock. Council is continually improving service and quality of the saleyards and is currently the only EU Accredited Saleyard in the Isaac Region.

Due to age and condition of the existing selling pens, Council has staged the progressive reconstruction of the 113 panels the make up the selling pens to improve safety, efficiencies for the growing market of transit cattle.

The tender is focused on the renewal and set back of sale pen 37 through to 54, achieving a buyers access separate from the cattle gates to the pens on the opposite sides. This work will bring the pens in line with the renewal work previously complete for sale pens 1 through 36 and is the continuation of the whole of life renewal at the Clermont Saleyards in line with Councils Master plan.

Isaac Regional Council (Council) is seeking quotations from suitable qualified contractors for the renewal of Clermont Saleyard pens with works being for the supply and installation of yard panels, and removal and reinstallation of gates.

The successful respondent will be required to:

• Work in conjunction with the Business Manager Saleyard & Showgrounds to ensure saleyard operation disruptions are minimised.

• Remove and replace nominated yard panels as per the specifications below.

• Removal and disposal of all waste materials from immediate worksite with all redundant steel to be relocated to an area within the broader precinct as per instruction from the Business Manager Saleyard & Showgrounds

Particulars of the Works

The works are to be conducted at the Clermont Sale Yards, located on Wattle Hill Road, Clermont.

All existing Saleyards materials i.e. posts, rails etc are to be removed by the successful respondent and stored at an approved location on site at Clermont Saleyards.

Demolition Requirements:

• 18 Gates to be removed.

• 56 Panels of fence to be removed.

• 56 Rail line posts to be removed.

Installation Requirements:

• Stand 37 x approximately 4 metre posts placed in concrete, spacing to be 3-meter centres.

• Stand 38 x approximately 4 metre posts placed in concrete, spacing to be 2.5-meter centres.

• Install 36 gates and cap rails along front of pens to fit 3 metre post centres.

• Install 36 gates and cap rails to divide pens to fit 2.5 metre post centres.

• Includes 19 short panel tie connections to the existing fence approx. >1m each

• Post height approximately 3metre out of ground.

• Division fence post spacings to be 2.5 metre spacings.

• Gates to be made of 115x42x2.5mm Cattle rail, 50mm (SHS) ends, slam latch & chain latch on each.

• Adequate cap rails to be installed over every gate.

• Piece of sheet steel welded on one of each of the front pen gates and painted with chalk board paint.
