Design of Biloela 50m Pool Redevelopment

⁠⁠⁠Scope: Banana Shire Council is seeking to engage a suitably qualified engineer/designer to design a replacement 50m pool (and surrounding areas and filtration system) at Biloela Swimming Pool Complex. The successful contractor will be required to provide all documentation for the tender of works. Please note, this quotation is to produce a plan & documentation ONLY (not for install or building works).

Site location: 70 Rainbow Street, Biloela 4715 QLD.

Council wishes for the engineer/designer to provide a complete set of documents that can be sent to tender for the construction of this project. This will include the following designs and details:

• A detailed scope of works outlining all proposed design elements,

• Pipework
• Pool shell (including soil preparation)
• Pump/filtration house
• Filter specifications
• Chemical storage
• Electrical earthing

• Comprehensive design documentation for each component (listed above)

• An updated site plan clearly identifying all proposed works, as well as existing infrastructure to remain unchanged

Council welcomes any additional documentation not mentioned above that may be useful in providing a complete set of tender documents. We request that the successful engineer, is able to explore options of enhance abilities of the pool and filtration options (eg sand filters vs Co2). A 3D design concept plan will be a necessary deliverable and all relevant local government and Australian Standards for the project will need to be noted.

The pool shell:

Council is seeking to replace the existing 50-metre pool with a new 50-metre pool shell in the current location or similar. The redevelopment design is to incorporate the following features:

• A gradient pool floor, featuring both shallow and deep ends

• A compliant Persons with Disability (PWD) access ramp

• 8–10 swimming lanes, each with a width of 2.5 metres

• A wet deck system

• A shade structure positioned over the shallow end of the pool

• Electronic timing system

• Removable bulkhead

The filter house/pump room:

The design must include the redevelopment of the filtration building and its content:

• Filtration plant room design

• Filtration and chemical systems

• Water treatment chemical storage and integration

• Filtration designs/sizes/types

Surrounding Facilities

The area surrounding the pool must also be designed, including:

• Pool shade shelters

• Grandstand seating areas

All designs and concepts need to be in alignment with relevant standards and legislation.
