ABOUT THE CITY OF LAKE MACQUARIE: Lake Macquarie is the Hunter Region's largest city, accounting for 35% of the Lower Hunter population. With the city's current population fast approaching 217,000 Lake Macquarie is also the third largest regional city in New South Wales by population. Moreover, the city's population is expected to grow by 39,000 by 2041, creating a demand for 12,000 new dwellings and associated infrastructure.
ABOUT THE TENDER: T04019 Bridge Replacement at Racecourse Road, Teralba - Lake Macquarie City Council invites tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the replacement of Bridge 263 on Racecourse Road Teralba, a deteriorated dual lane culvert structure on a critical route linking Teralba and Barnsley.
Key elements include demolition of the existing structure, construction of a new durable and widened bridge, associated roadworks and embankment widening, and maintenance of traffic access throughout construction via staged works and temporary arrangements.
The project is located within a heavily constrained environment involving waterways, environmental restrictions, live traffic, overhead power lines, utility services proximity, and adjacent residential areas. Contractors with demonstrated experience in bridge construction, complex staging and constrained sites are encouraged to tender for this project.
BRIEFING: A non-mandatory briefing will be held at Teralba Bowling Club carpark on Wednesday 15 April 2026 at 10am.

TENDERERS TO NOTE: In the preparation and submission of the Tender and without limiting the Tenderers obligations, the Tenderer shall submit a tender which includes all Schedules including the Tenderers Declaration Schedule and any other declaration required to be completely filled in and signed, together with any other documents, information and details necessary to make the tender complete. The tenderer shall not submit a tender without a firm intention to proceed nor engage in any form of collusive practice not directly or indirectly canvass support from an elected member or employee of Council at any time.
CLOSING DATE AND TIME: RFT closes at 2.00pm (Australian Eastern Standard Time AEST) on Friday 1 May 2026 and submissions must be received in full prior to this time. The lowest or any offer may not necessarily be accepted. Late submissions are not accepted.
