Snowy Valleys Multipurpose and Evacuation Centre - Tumut Operation and Management

⁠⁠⁠It is Snowy Valleys Council's (SVC) intention to outsource the operation and management of the new Snowy Valleys Multipurpose and Evacuation Centre (MEC) in accordance with the Council's Community and Recreational Facilities Management Policy adopted by Council in December 2023. This policy applies to Council Facilities including Recreational Facilities that are owned or are on land owned by Council.

In simple the terms, the EOI will be seeking commercial offers from organisations interested in the on-going operation of the MEC for a five-year period.

The successful organisation will be responsible for complete management of the MEC, including but not limited to:

• Coordinating all bookings, payments and documentation.
• The day-to-day operational use including set up, and pack down of the various areas, cleaning, etc.
• Maximising its potential as a sporting venue.
• Promoting community engagement and connectivity, including marketing and securing hirers.
• It is proposed that the operator would collect revenue relating to the venue including:
• Programs
• Court hire
• Room hire
• Kiosk
• Internal Advertising Signage (subject to style guide)

It is proposed that the operator would be responsible for various expenditure items to maintain and operate the MEC. Respondents will be required to acknowledge their intention of taking responsibility of expenditure items and outline their commercial offer in respect to any proposed rental, revenue sharing and/or capital investment over the term of the agreement.
