Nyngan Airport Runway Lighting Upgrade

⁠⁠⁠The scope of works is for an upgrade to the existing airfield lighting at the Nyngan Airport. The work includes but is not limited to the installation and supply of the following:

• New Runway and Taxiway Edge Lighting as shown on the drawings.

• A new Runway Lighting Control Cubicle as shown on the drawings.

• All underground conduits, pits, primary and secondary cables, controls and accessories as required for correct operation, generally as shown on the drawings.

• Complete demolition and removal of all existing runway lighting and taxiway lighting (once the new lighting systems have been installed and commissioned) including conduits, pits, service markers, lights, etc.

• Prior to site establishment, preparation of the following documents for review by the Superintendent:

• A suitable Method of Working Plan (MOWP) in accordance with Part 139 MOS.
• Suitable Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s) for all work.
• Suitable Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS’s) for all work.

• Time duration scheduling and reporting, all temporary supply and installation of equipment to support the MOWP, all works associated with disconnection, removal or temporary rerouting of existing runway cables to support the MOWP.

• Provision of a safe isolation procedure for isolation of the existing lighting system when working in close proximity to the existing system.

• Supply and installation of trenching, under-boring, conduits, pits and back filling for underground cabling systems.

• Reinstatement of existing surfaces, including provision of turf to trenching across the grass cross-runway, and daily watering for 3 weeks after laying of the turf.

• Primary and secondary cabling.

• Cable support systems.

• Termination and joining accessories.

• Equipment supports and bracing.

• Complete commissioning of the new system in accordance with CASA requirements, including ground checks, a flight check by a CASA approved pilot, and appropriate certification.

• Supply of Operation and Maintenance Manuals.

• Supply of Work as Executed Drawings.

• 12 months warranty on installation works.

• Training of Aerodrome Operations staff.

• Maintenance during the 12 months defects liability period.
