Tender Description

The Central Darling Shire Council (the Principal) is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and resourced contractor to provide a quotation to undertake strategic planning and plan document developing for Council’s water and sewerage schemes and business. The Principal has used the Regulatory Assurance Framework (RAF) for local water utilities in NSW when scoping the projects required to be delivered.

Central Darling Shire Council is a remote local government area in the Far West of New South Wales with a small population, and a large proportion of the population is indigenous. Council owns and operates water and sewerage systems in a number of towns and communities. In 2020, Public Works New South Wales completed a comprehensive Integrated Water Cycle Management Strategy (Schedule 1 of this Request) for Central Darling Shire Council.

The Principal is committed to effective and responsible delivery of water and sewerage services to our communities. The goal is to provide an appropriate, affordable, cost-effective (value for money) and sustainable urban water services that meet community needs, protect public health and the environment, and make best use of regional resources. This study involves looking at the three components of the urban water services (water supply, sewerage and stormwater) in an integrated way when identifying and characterising all the issues and developing scenarios to address these issues.
