We’re looking for new street banner designs in the Oxford Street/Taylor Square precinct as part of Art & About.

Up to 3 artists will be selected. Each artist may design up to 5 variations, displayed as consecutive banners.

Artists will be invited to participate in events and presentations held as part of the exhibition.

Designs will be on display from Monday, 12 October to Sunday, 25 October.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for designs that:

  •  Celebrate the communities, culture, history and/or character of Oxford Street.
  •  Are interesting, vibrant and colourful, with broad appeal to a wide audience.
  •  Demonstrate artistic excellence and innovation.
  •  Are designed in line with our banner specifications.

Banner designs need to:

  •  Incorporate dynamic contrasting colours to work most effectively with the fabric.
  •  Be dominant enough to penetrate the reverse side of the banners.

How We Can Help:

We’ll pay for, manage and promote the banners. No costs or expenses apply beyond the project fee.

Project Fee:

A total of $5,000 excluding GST will be paid to each successful artist in 2 installments.

Payment 1 – $2,000 excluding GST when:

  •  Design created and finalised.
  •  Artwork supplied in line with our specifications.

Payment 2 – $3,000 excluding GST when:

  •  Any colour or design issues are resolved to ensure banners are high contrast and have strong visual impact.
  •  The print-ready artwork is received in a satisfactory format and sent for a test print.
  •  We send the final banners to print.
  •  You provide post-event feedback in a one-page report.

How to Apply:

We won’t accept applications by email.

To complete the form, we’ll need:
