Site Preparation Services

⁠⁠⁠The Forest Products Commission (FPC) will soon release a tender to establish a panel of Contractors (the Panel) for the provision of Site Preparation Services for second rotation, and softwood plantation establishment programs, as well as resources for sharefarm cleanup following the current agreements' expiry.

The Services will apply to pine plantations located in the FPC’s three nominated supply zones: Establishment Region, Midwest Sharefarm Region, and Southcoast Sharefarm Region. For the FPC to promote a sustainable forest industry going forward, harvested plantations are expected to be prepared for the replanting of pine seedlings.

Site Preparation Services include:

• Post harvest residue/debris windrowing;
• Post harvest residue/debris heaping;
• Mounding;
• Rip-mounding;
• Ripping;
• Furrow lining;
• Bracke Plough;
• Scalping;
• Chopper rolling;
• Mulching and stump grinding;
• Hand falling;
• Hot saw; and
• Grading.

Cleanup Services may include:

• Stump grinding;
• Heaping; and
• Windrowing.
