Chambers Crescent and Koolinda Crescent have been identified as high-priority locations for traffic calming and liveability improvements following a comprehensive assessment of roads across Darwin. This assessment considered factors including vehicle speeds, crash history, and the presence of vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists.
The project aims to improve safety and amenity within these streets through the implementation of targeted infrastructure and traffic control measures designed to reduce vehicle speeds and enhance conditions for pedestrians, cyclists, and other vulnerable road users.
As part of the works, the Contractor is required to prepare a Construction Management Plan (CMP) that outlines the control measures to be implemented during construction. The CMP must be developed in accordance with all relevant and current Australian Standards, the National Construction Code of Australia,
NT Subdivisional Development Guidelines, and NT WorkSafe policies.
The CMP is to be submitted to the City of Darwin's Representative for review and acceptance no later than seven (7) days following the award of the Contract. Once accepted, the CMP must be implemented for the duration of the works and apply to all subcontractors undertaking work on, or accessing, the site.
