Sutherland Shire Council invites Expressions of Interest from suitably experienced artists to design and deliver nine (9) large-scale murals at the Seymour Shaw Park Sporting Fields at Miranda.

Sutherland Shire Council invites Expressions of Interest from suitably experienced artists to design and deliver nine (9) large-scale murals at Seymour Shaw Park Sporting Fields, corner of Wandella Road and The Boulevarde, Miranda.

The murals will be painted on the façade of two recently constructed brick retaining walls and the internal and external walls of the cricket net enclosure within the sports precinct.

This project aims to enhance the visual identity of the precinct, celebrate community, culture and sport, and create a welcoming environment for users and visitors.

• Mural 1 First Nations Artwork: A culturally appropriate artwork by a First Nations artist featuring the native flora and/or fauna of the region.
• Mural 2 First Nations Artwork: A culturally appropriate artwork by a First Nations artist featuring the native flora and/or fauna of the region.
• Mural 3 Sporting-Themed Artwork: A contemporary artwork responding to sport, community, movement and participation.
• Mural 4 Sporting-Themed Artwork: A contemporary artwork responding to sport, community, movement and participation.
• Mural 5 Local Environment Artwork: An artwork relating to the flora, fauna or general aesthetics of the Sutherland Shire area.
• Mural 6 Cricket-Themed Artwork: A contemporary artwork responding to sport, community, movement and participation inspired by Cricket.
• Mural 7 Sporting Community Artwork: A contemporary artwork responding to sport, community, movement and participation.
• Mural 8 Family Inspiration Artwork: A family or inspiration-styled artwork celebrating community bonds and participation.
• Mural 9 Signage Complementary Artwork: A simple pattern or background artwork that complements SSC signage and enhances visibility from Wandella Rd.

Artists may submit an EOI for one or multiple of the above.

EOIs must include:

• Artist CV (max. 2 pages)
• Up to six (6) examples of relevant past work (images with brief descriptions)
• A short written response outlining interest in the project and approach (no concept designs required at EOI stage)
• Indication of which mural(s) you are applying for

Shortlisted artists will be invited to develop a concept proposal. No detailed concept is required during this stage, however draft ideas are welcome.

This project is open to NSW residents only.
