POS (Point of Sale) System Replacement for Regional Rail

Project goals

The objective of this procurement is to deliver a fit-for-purpose, reliable and secure onboard Point of Sale (POS) solution to support retail and approved transaction activities across NSW TrainLink regional rail services.

The solution will enable accurate transaction processing, reconciliation, and reporting, and support integration with relevant NSW Trains systems and approved payment platforms.

The POS solution must be suitable for operation in regional and remote rail environments and capable of deployment across multiple fleet types, including the XPT, XPL and New Regional Fleet. The procurement includes implementation, testing, controlled transitionand ongoing support to ensure continuity of onboard sales operations.

Scope

The scope of this opportunity comprises three core components:

1. POS Software Capability: Provision and configuration of an onboard Point of Sale(POS) solution to support retail transactions, approved payment methods, reporting andaccess controls across NSW TrainLink regional services.
2. Break-Fix, Support and Operational Services: Provision of ongoing support, maintenance and service management under agreed service levels, including incidentmanagement, software updates and operational assistance.
3. Installation and Rolling Stock Integration: Integration of the POS solution withonboard hardware and relevant NSW Trains systems, including testing, pilot deployment, progressive rollout across applicable fleet units and controlled transition from the incumbent environment.

The solution must be suitable for operation across the XPT, XPL and New Regional Fleet.
