Operation of Canteen – Scone Regional Livestock Selling Centre (SRLSC)
Upper Hunter Shire Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably experienced and motivated individuals or businesses to operate the canteen at the Scone Regional Livestock Selling Centre (SRLSC).
The SRLSC is a modern, well-established livestock facility servicing the Upper Hunter region. The canteen is centrally located within the complex and features a contemporary fit-out and commercial kitchen, providing an excellent opportunity to service agents, buyers, producers, transport operators and visitors on sale days.
Minimum Operating Requirements
The successful operator will be required to:
- Operate at a minimum on weekly sale days (every Tuesday)
- Operate on store sales (up to every third Thursday of the month)
- Operate during special and feature sales as scheduled
- Commence operations from 7 July 2026
- There is also the opportunity for the operator to expand trading outside of core sale days, subject to Council approval and site activity.

Selection Criteria
- The tenant can propose rent amount for Council to consider
- Council does not have to accept the highest rent
- Council does not have to accept the longest lease
- Council may negotiate further with the successful applicant(s)
- Applications must be received by Council no later than 4:30pm on Friday 1 May, 2026.
- Any successful expression of interest will have to complete a Commercial Tenancy Application upon request from Council in order to proceed with a lease agreement.
