Project goals
Youth Justice is replacing an end-of-life video monitoring system. The new solution will support the safe and secure transportation of young people in custody by providing in-cell video monitoring and recording.
The solution will enable staff to:
- Monitor the well-being of young people during transport
- Access footage of incidents for evidentiary purposes in a timely manner
- Minimise down-time for vehicles during repairs and maintenance.
Scope
This procurement will provision hardware across the Youth Justice fleet of trucks; supported by a subscription-based software platform for video footage storage and retrieval services.
The scope required is:
- Solution delivery including hardware and software for in-vehicle recording and monitoring, with the ability to access footage as needed. Additional capabilities such as GPS tracking, duress alarms and live-streaming will be considered.
- Implementation and roll-out to 25 YJ vehicles (and to all new additional or replacement fleet vehicles as required).
- Security testing and training as required.
- Ongoing licencing and support as required.
Implementation and roll-out includes installation of the hardware to the fleet, or alternatively, the supplier to provide guidelines for YJ to complete installation with a suitable third-party provider.
