Coastal Dune Restoration and Stabilisation Works Alva and Wunjunga

Burdekin Shire Council is seeking qualified contractors to undertake dune repair, and stabilisation works at Alva and Wunjunga Beaches. These works form part of Council’s ongoing commitment to coastal management and are guided by the Burdekin Shire Council Dune Management Strategy, which aims to protect and enhance the natural function of dune systems through targeted restoration and erosion control.

The project will involve on-ground environmental works that support dune health, improve resilience to coastal hazards, and contribute to long-term sustainability of these valued public spaces.

The works required include revegetation, weed control, fencing, watering and community involvement, work is to commence as soon as possible.
