Tender Description
Ballina Shire Council is seeking to naturalise an approximately 650m section of the Alstonville Creek watercourse, under the NSW Government Urban Rivers and Catchments Program. There are several key objectives of the project, which include stormwater management, flood management, biodiversity improvement, and aesthetic improvements.
Tenderers should note that there is a mandatory site meeting for this tender. Details of the meeting can be found in Section 2 - Conditions of Tendering.
The project involves a range of soft engineering interventions to meet the projects key objectives. These include stormwater outlet management and habitat elements including pollutant traps, wetland and swale areas. These shall be integrated into a structured planting proposition, which will result in significant revegetation of the creeks wetland areas, and the development of riparian planning in key locations.
