⁠⁠⁠Registration Of Interest - Design and Construction Eastern Force Main Stage 1 Renewals

The Eastern Western Force Main (EWFM) is a critical sewerage conveyance asset that collects and transports wastewater from the Benowa Re-Pump Facility to the Coombabah Sewage Treatment Plant. The asset is over 30 km in length and crosses major road corridors, residential streets, and multiple waterways, as well as environmentally sensitive areas. Sections of the EWFM are in poor condition and currently pose an unacceptable operational and environmental risk. To accommodate forecast population growth within the catchment, and in response to significant planned infrastructure works in the area, the City is required to meet its General Environmental Duty (GED) obligations. Accordingly, upgrades to the sewerage network are required.

The proposed works include replacement of sections of the existing Eastern Force Main where the current alignment conflicts with a major infrastructure project planned for FY27. Upsizing the main along a new alignment will provide capacity for future population growth and adjacent infrastructure development, while also addressing existing high-risk sections of the network that are constrained under current demand.
