Sunshine Coast Council’s Education Services – Waste and Resource Management Contract supports Council’s vision to be Australia’s most sustainable region by promoting best practice waste disposal, resource recovery, and positive behaviour change across the Sunshine Coast Local Government Area (LGA). The services align with the Sunshine Coast Resource Recovery Strategy 2023 and broader State and Federal waste policy priorities, including implementation of Food Organics Garden Organics (FOGO) services.
Tenders are invited for the development, coordination and delivery of Council’s waste education services, which include but are not limited to:
- Preparation, delivery and annual review of Council’s Waste Education Plans in consultation with Council.
- Design and delivery of education initiatives targeting households, schools, businesses, community groups, visitors, Councillors and Council officers.
- Facilitation of workshops, presentations, training sessions, displays, events and site tours at Council waste facilities and other approved venues.
- Coordination of bookings, logistics, stakeholder engagement and communications associated with education initiatives.
- Provision of specialist professional advice and support to assist Council with waste education, campaigns, communications and emerging priorities.
- Development, supply, management and handover of education materials and resources in accordance with Council branding and intellectual property requirements.
- Participation in community, industry and government events, campaigns and promotions such as National Recycling Week, Clean Up Australia Day and possible FOGO transitions.
- Collection of performance data and delivery of monthly and annual reporting against agreed Key Performance Indicators.
The Contractor will supply suitably qualified and experienced personnel and deliver the services collaboratively with Council, adapting to evolving waste programs, priorities and community needs.
This is a schedule of rates contract, commencing on 11 July 2026 and expiring 10 July 2028, with two (2) further extension options, each of up to 12 months, at Council’s sole discretion.
