Barista and Hospitality Training for Detainees at the Alexander Maconchie Centre (AMC)

ACTCS is committed to ensuring detainees at the Alexander Maocnhciee Centre (AMC) have access to education and training programs that support effective reintegration into the community.

Barista and hospitality training for detainees was previously delivered at the AMC for a 12 month-period, the Contract expired on 5 January 2025.

It is essential that ACTCS continues to deliver this training. The course equips program participants with the skills and knowledge required to extract and serve espresso coffee beverages using commercial machines and grinders, advise customers on beverages and coffee bean selections, and maintain clean equipment. This skillset enhances participants’ employment readiness across a range of industries.
