2026 NSW Schools Spectacular Graphic Design Response Form

To identify an individual/organisation to provide the design component of marketing /promotions materials for the 2026-28 Schools Spectacular; provide advice/contact with suitable printing suppliers.

Project goals

The NSW Department of Education’s Schools Spectacular is a high-profile performing arts event involving the participation of over 6,000 public school children and young people. The annual two-day event is staged at Qudos Bank Arena on the last Friday and Saturday in November. It comprises matinee and evening performances, attracts arena audiences of 25,000 people and is recorded for a televised broadcast nationally. In association with the Spectacular, SpecFest is an outdoor pre-show hub featuring live performances from talented public-school students. It is a combination of an outdoor festival atmosphere with performances and activations to match

The communication materials surrounding the Schools Spectacular and SpecFest aim to:

• Generate ticket sales
• Encourage enquiries and subscribers
• Promote the values of the New South Wales Department of Education and public schools
• Articulate clearly what the events are and who the participants are
• Articulate the theme of the show
• Generate positive discussion
• Promote brand awareness

Scope

The Supplier will work under the direction of the Executive Producer, the Operations Manager and the Business Engagement Officer of the Schools Spectacular.

The Department requires a range of communication materials applying the Schools Spectacular’s visual identity for various communication channels.

• Digital - wordmarks, logos, tiles & banners
• Marketing - posters, outdoor banner, pull up banners
• Merchandise - T-shirts, polos, teachers bag
• Recognition – certificates
• Show week - media walls, stage banners
• Programs

Finished artwork

• Finished artwork and file supply to printers specifications
• Supply print (high-res PDF), online (low-res PDF single pages and spreads), packaged InDesign files.
• Supply of finished artwork for all elements and supply of assets to client for further application and adaptation
