Motor Accidents Insurance Board Supported Accommodation Renewal Project - Expression of Interest Contractor

The MAIB’s Supported Accommodation Renewal Project (SAR Project) seeks to redevelop four MAIB supported accommodation facilities in the north-west, north, and south of Tasmania. The SAR Project is a response to ageing infrastructure, providing the opportunity for modern care practices, changes in accommodation standards resulting from the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability (the ‘Disability Royal Commission’), and operational issues. The SAR Project is fundamental to addressing a model of care that will transform institutional settings and aged facilities into community environments that promote wellbeing for the people of Tasmania.

The SAR Project proposes a complete redevelopment of the four MAIB sites to deliver both independent and supported accommodation units that have the flexibility to meet different levels of care and to provide quality staff facilities—including overnight accommodation—for support workers.
