Microtrax Upgrade Works Zone 2

ABOUT THE TENDER:

Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) is seeking tenders from competent contractors to provide materials and services to undertake the Microtrax Upgrade Works.

Scope:

The scope of works (the “Works”) includes the Project Management, Design Management, Procurement, Manufacture, Construction, Installation, Testing, Commissioning, Certification and handover including all Safeworking required and supply of all materials, tools and labour for the Zone 2 Ulan Line Microtrax Upgrade works as listed below for the Hunter Valley Network.

i) The existing Microtrax Track Circuit 333AT length shall be reduced and a new coded track circuit 333BT is proposed to be created at approximately 337.640km.

ii) New Double Width Double Skin location with Roof is proposed on Down Side of the Railway, concrete foundation, shade awning and all associated equipment to house Microlok II, Microtrax and Solar arrangement and associated equipment and materials.

iii) Power arrangement to be installed as Solar.

iv) New GIJs at approximately 337.640km and associated Track materials and jewellery. 

v) Construction of new Type2 re-enterable cable route and installation of new power cables from Solar Tilt Mast to new Double Width Location.

vi) Conduits from Signalling Location to Solar Tilt Mast to be installed as direct connection. Requirement of Pits in between is not necessary.

vii) New Solar Post as Tilt Mast assembly is required to be 6m high.

viii) New Solar Tilt Mast, Tilt Mast Base, Foundation, Brackets and mountings required to mount Solar Panels.

ix) Install Bird spikes / bird netting.

x) New Battery Rack to suit ergonomic installation of required batteries.

xi) Batteries require to be placed on the insulated material such as rubber pad on the battery tray.

xii) New Solar arrangement capable of remote monitoring connection to the Alarm Management System for the Earth Leakage Detection (ELD) and Solar alarms.

Separable Portion 1 – Works completion by December 2026

- Sandy Hollow to Baerami

- Baerami to Kerrabee

All Installation, Testing and Commissioning works are to be completed by, or prior to 30th

November 2026 followed by submission of all complete design and documentations and  rectification of all defects by no later than 15th December 2026.

Separable Portion 2 – Works completion by October 2027

- Yarrawa to Sandy Hollow

- Murrumbo to Bylong

- Coggan Creek to Wollar

Tender enquiries should be directed via the online forum. Please note the Tender Forum will close three days (3) from the actual Tender Close date.

SUBMISSIONS:

Completed responses must be submitted via the electronic tender box (see option below). This Tender uses two (2) tender boxes. Documents submitted as follows:

1) The first tenderer document "07748 Section B Part 1" is to be used to submit Section B Part 1 Commercial Schedules into tender box 1; and

2) The second tenderer document "07748 Section B Part 2" is to be used to submit Section B Part 2 Technical Schedules and all other Tender documentation into tender box 2.

Respondents will receive a Successful Submission Receipt timed and dated upon completion.
