Delivery of remediation, and upgrade works to improve the safety, stability & long-term performance of Snowy Monaro Regional Council’s urban levee system in Cooma, NSW.
Project goals
This contract is to engage a suitably qualified Design, Development and Construction (DD&C) Contractor to deliver remediation and upgrade works to improve the safety, stability and long-term performance of Snowy Monaro Regional Council’s urban levee system in Cooma, NSW. The works will address structural defects, enhance flood protection infrastructure, and ensure the levee system continues to perform reliably under future flood events.
Scope
The scope of works across the four levees at Cooma include:
- Floodgate Upgrades - Replacement or improvement of existing floodgate assets to restore functionality and ensure reliable operation during flood events.
- Concrete and masonry works - Repair of deteriorated structures, reinstatement of damaged elements, and minor reconstruction works to support structural integrity.
- Embankment stabilisation - Targeted remediation of slumping or weakened levee embankments, including measures to restore stability and prevent further movement.
- Vegetation clearing and animal burrow repairs - Localised tree removals and rectification of burrows or voids to improve levee integrity.

Pre-Tender Meeting
A non-mandatory pre-tender meeting is proposed for:
- Date: Wednesday 25/02/2026
- Time: 10:00AM
- Location: Snowy Monaro Regional Council, 81 Commissioner Street, Cooma NSW 2630.
You must register your attendance with the Contact Person, Stephen Baily, at least 3 business days prior to the pre-tender meeting.
