1 Lead Cyber Governance

We are seeking a seasoned senior cyber governance and risk leader to strengthen the Australian CDC’s cybersecurity posture and ensure the organisation meets its obligations under the PSPF, ISM, ACSC Essential Eight, and other mandated government security frameworks. Operating at a senior advisory level, you will play a critical role in supporting the CISO, influencing cyber strategy, and ensuring the CDC’s systems, data and services are protected against emerging threats that may impact national health operations.

In this position, you will provide expert leadership across cyber governance, risk management, assurance, and compliance, driving uplift in Essential Eight maturity, leading complex risk and assurance programs, overseeing vendor and third‑party security, and embedding robust security governance practices across the organisation. You will guide the development and implementation of fit‑for‑purpose cybersecurity policies, frameworks, and assurance processes, ensuring that controls are effective, risks are understood and treated, and the organisation is positioned to maintain operational continuity during public health emergencies.
