Supply of Chemical Suppressants to Minimise Haul Road Dust Generation

Scope of Work

The Iron Ore business unit (RTIO) is looking to control fugitive dust from our operational haul roads in the Pilbara. We are seeking expressions of interests from vendors who can manufacture or supply chemical suppressants. We will require your company to provide the product(s) and associated services at scale, mainly to our Pilbara Mining Operations. RTIO will be responsible for application of these products, so associated services are to be focused on technical support or value-add activities such as data monitoring, reporting and suggesting product/logistical improvements.

Scope & Objectives

• Manufacture and/or supply chemical suppressants

• Reduce water dependency for dust control

• Improve road surface integrity and operational visibility.

Key Requirements

• Product: Must comply with RTIO standards; preferred product is lignosulphonate-based (Ca/Na/Mg/NH₄ salts) or similar.

• Forms: Liquid concentrate (preferred) or powder

• Application method: Directly apply by watercart or Mix-in to road base.

Technical Requirements that must be supplied by the Vendors who are selected:

o Product Data Sheet: Solids %, density, viscosity (25 °C), pH, recommended dilution and mix-in ratios; curing behaviour; compatibility with Pilbara aggregates.

o SDS (GHS compliant) and hazard classifications.

o Quality Assurance: Batch Certificate of Analysis (COA)—solids %, lignosulphonate content, salt speciation.

o Environmental risk assessment and ALARP justification framework.

o Performance Evidence: Pilbara/analogous haul-road case studies; before/after dust metrics; watering reduction; grader pass frequency; surface loss (mm).

 As this is an Expression of Interest (EOI) only, the specifics of the package of work relating to breadth of scope, location and timing may be subject to change. If successful, the Supplier/s will be notified of any changes prior to award.
