Tender Description

The Supplier will be required to provide ecological restoration services using both planting and direct seeding methods to improve and increase the area of Koala habitat in Warranmadhaa National Park.

Project goals

The goal of this project is to improve and increase native vegetation to form Koala habitat in the future. These works form part of the Commitment 13 of Cumberland Plain Conservation Plan (CPCP) Sub Plan A, to deliver ecological restoration to restore Koala habitat in the Warranmadhaa National Park (the National Park) and other priority locations in the CPCP strategic conservation area.

The project site is located at 680 Appin Road, Gilead NSW.

Scope:

a) Supply and deliver plants for infill planting for Autumn 2028

b) Infill planting completed (April – May 2028)

c) Maintenance tasks to establish plantings (including supplementary watering, and jute matting pegging maintenance) to achieve 85% survival rate

d) removal of plant protection if appropriate to do so or as they disintegrate (weather, site aesthetics and herbivory dependent)

e) Maintenance tasks to establish direct seeding areas, including:

i) weed control to maintain below weeds coverage quote targets

f) Maintenance activities/areas required to maintain the project site including:

i) slashing trails to maintain access and project areas to manage biomass in the western 10 m buffer, if required

ii) Any weed control needed to manage establishing listed priority weeds, widespread weeds, such as blackberry, Solanum sisybriifolium, privet or other invaders, along the boundary or within the Site.
