Youth Week Events 2026 Expression of Interest

Council is inviting Expressions of Interest from community groups to deliver youth-led events during Youth Week 2026.

Funding of up to $1000 is available per event to support a range of activities across the region.

• Youth Week Dates: 11 – 19 April 2026
• Target Age Group: Young people aged 12–25 years.

Applications close 5pm Monday, 23 February 2026.

Events should

• Engage young people in meaningful ways
• Support skill, talent, and leadership development
• Foster positive community connection and well-being.

Examples of events may include music, arts and culture, sport and recreation, creative workshops, wellbeing and mental health activities, leadership or skills-based sessions, community celebrations, and youth forums.

Eligibility Criteria

• Be a local organisation, not-for-profit, or business based in the Gladstone Region
• Propose an event suitable for young people aged 12–25
• Hold or obtain public liability insurance and relevant Blue Cards
• Be able to issue a tax invoice to Council
• Priority may be given to ensure a diverse spread of events across the region.

Conditions of Support

• Events must be delivered between 11–19 April and be open to all young people aged 12–25
• Council acknowledgement is required on all event promotions
• Final event details must be provided at least 4 weeks before the event
• Event organisers are responsible for all aspects of delivery, including registrations, supervision, and risk management
• Funding must be used for event delivery costs
• A minimum of one photo from the event must be provided for Council reporting and Youth Week wrap-up.
