Sydney Metro will run a two-stage EOI and RFT for the Southwest ATL Package, due Q1 2026. Bidders need proven D&C experience, safety excellence, and capability in rail and public domain work
Project goals
Sydney Metro is required to improve east-west pedestrian and cyclist facilities between Sydenham and Bankstown and deliver the ATL within 24 months following the commencement of operations on the Southwest Metro. Sydney Metro intends to deliver this through a two-stage procurement process, comprising an Expression of Interest followed by an Open Request for Tender in early Q2 2026. The objective is to engage a contractor with proven capability and experience in design and construction under a D&C contract, ensuring compliance with standards, safety requirements, and successful delivery of a pedestrian and cycling route between Sydenham and Bankstown Stations.
Scope
Engage a suitably qualified design and construct contractor for the delivery of the Southwest Active Transport Link (Southwest ATL). The Southwest ATL is a pedestrian andcycling route between Sydenham and Bankstown Stations. The Southwest ATL is one component of the Sydney Metro City & Southwest project and is required to be completed no later than two years following the commencement of first passenger service on the Southwest Metro. Under the Southwest ATL Metro project planning conditions, Sydney Metro is required to improve east-west pedestrian and cyclist facilities between Sydenham and Bankstown and deliver the ATL within 24 months following the commencement of operations(First Passenger Service) on the Southwest Metro.
The proposed scope of services for the Southwest ATL includes: Design & construction of the Southwest ATL between Sydenham Metro Station and Bankstown Station and pre-construction preparation, deliverables and agreements required for the successful delivery of the Construction Phase.
