Wainuiomata Model Build and Calibration RFP

The project is to undertake the calibration of the Wainuiomata catchment using information from flow monitoring data. A flow survey was undertaken in 2025 consisted of 11 (3 Historical) HVQ gauges, 2 v notch weirs and 9 (5 Historical) level only instrumentation. The rainfall is based on 2 raingauges, but there is the possibility that rainfall radar could be utilised to represent data gaps or that refinement of spatial variation. The main activities will include the following:

• Hydraulic Model Calibration using both the Short Term and Long Term Flow Survey data.

• Validation of the model performance against observed network information (flooding and spill data) and using Long Time Series Rainfall data as appropriate.
