Tender Description

The Shire of Northam is seeking to dispose of land for lease by public tender, in accordance with the requirements of Section 3.58 of the Local Government Act 1995.

The proposed leased area can be seen in the area highlighted in red on the attached map.

Please note that Lot 471 and Lot 1 Great Eastern Highway which is adjacent to Lot 470 is leased to the Northam Motorcycle Club which can be seen outlined in green on the attached map.

Requirements

  • The lease must support the Community Purpose of the Reserve, for example cannot be for profit generation. Cropping to support fundraising activities for community groups and organisations is permitted.
  • Tenderers must address the following criteria:
    •  Lease rental per annum (40%)
    •  Proposed use of property (30%)
    •  Economic impact (30%)
  • Details of requested lease term, up to a maximum of 10 years which will be set at Council’s discretion.

All other lease terms will be in accordance with Council Policy CP.58 Property Management (Leases and Licences).

Tender Lodgement

Tenders must be lodged electronically to the Shire of Northam at records@northam.wa.gov.au or in person at the Shire of Northam Administration Centre, 395 Fitzgerald St, Northam.

Tender submission must address the requirements listed above.

Canvassing of Council Members and Shire Officers will automatically disqualify any tender submitted.

The Shire is not bound to accept the highest tender and may decline to accept any tender.

Late tenders and tenders submitted by facsimile will not be accepted.
