NCC Real Estate Services Social Housing Divestment Project

⁠⁠⁠Napier City Council (NCC) are seeking a REINZ-registered real estate agency with national property experience to handle all aspects of any potential sale of the properties listed below (individually or collectively).

NCC (the Council, we, us, our) has a proud history of owning and managing affordable rental housing for both retirement and social housing tenants, currently provided through 12 villages in total.

Following consultation on the Three-Year Plan in June 2024, NCC has made the following decisions regarding the future of its portfolio:

Decision A: Divestment (sale) of the three social villages owned by NCC (the Social Portfolio).

The Council is shifting its focus from all social housing to an exclusive focus on retirement housing.

This RFP relates to real estate services to give effect to Decision A. The Council is seeking to maximise the return from the sale of the Social Portfolio to enable to reinvest the proceeds in broader housing outcomes.
