Suppliers are invited by the Customer to submit an offer for Invitation to Offer No. SMBHinED-010 for the provision of a Quality Improvement program to embed senior mental health nursing roles within emergency departments of public hospitals across 15 Queensland Hospital and Health Services. Focusing on an integrated care model, these new nursing roles will see patients presenting with mental and behavioural health concerns are triaged and treated as promptly as possible.
This initiative will also optimise the relationship with other new services, such as the Crisis Support Spaces and Medicare Mental Health Centres, with the aim of easing pressure and releasing capacity of Emergency Departments. These specialist nursing roles will improve the care of specific patient cohorts such as those presenting with suicidality and those repeatedly presenting in crisis. This will be achieved through a collaborative co-design process with the Department and Hospital and Health Services.
