Decarbonisation Action Plan

Provision of a Decarbonisation Transition and Action Plan, including both strategic transition planning and actionable decarbonisation roadmaps

Scope:

SOH expects the scope of services to deliver a decarbonisation plan will entail the following phases:

Preparation

- Review and align with SOH’s baseline inventory and boundaries review (determined by previously completed Scope 3 Boundary Review, to be made available upon contract award).

- Review case studies, TPG24-33 Reporting framework, NSW Net Zero plans, Net Zero Government Operations Policy (NZGOP), and Net Zero Targets (Net Zero Future) Act 2023) to determine appropriate pathway.

- Review and align with SOH sustainability commitments, including goal to be Climate Positive by 2030, in line with Green Building Council of Australia’s Climate Positive Roadmap and maintain 6 Star Green Star V2 certification.

Decarbonisation Transition Plan

- Identify hotspots and measure environmental footprints (beyond general ledger and Climate Active certification requirements, as guided by scope 3 boundary setting work completed by carbon consultants, Pangolin Associates)

- Develop science-aligned decarbonisation strategies for emissions reductions and a high-level road map based on detailed GHG protocols and inventories. This includes prioritising actions, setting targets, and engaging internal teams to identify and implement changes

- Engage with SOH to develop a Net Zero trajectory, in line with NSW Net Zero Plans, Policies and Targets, as well as meeting the building requirements to achieve Climate Positive by 2030 and maintain 6 Star Green Star V2.

- Refine roadmap, in conjunction with SOH review, for high-priority areas into an implementation strategy.

- Collation of development findings into a summary report.

Actionable Decarbonisation Roadmap

- Prepare a detailed Decarbonisation Action Plan to 2030 and a high level Decarbonisation Action Plan to 2050.

- Collation of delivery findings into a summary report.

Nature Based Assessment: Dependencies & Opportunities

- Assess nature based dependencies, in line with the decarbonisation pathway development, including but not limited to mapping biodiversity hotspots and/or nature dependencies.

- Prepare a high level report back identifying our of nature related impacts and opportunities.
