Whalers Road Reconstruction

This Request for Tender seeks submissions from suitably qualified and experienced Contractors to deliver works in accordance with the technical specifications and project requirements.

The Scope of works is located within the City of Victor Harbor Council region and is along Whalers Road corridor and requiring upgrade works to address pedestrian safety, accessibility, and stormwater drainage performance issues. Historical inspections and community feedback identified deficiencies including inconsistent footpath alignment, localized drainage constraints, and reduced surface water capture during rainfall events.

Council engaged Tonkin Consulting Engineers to undertake a staged design review and update of the road. As part of this process, additional site investigations, service reviews, and targeted potholing were undertaken to better understand existing constraints. The design has now progressed to a 90% level and is considered suitable to proceed to tender, subject to minor refinements prior to construction.
