Marine Structure Design - Sandringham Bath Rehabilitation and Rock Revetment

Bayside Council require a consultant to provide a detailed design (for construction) to permanently protect the seawall undermined at Sandringham bath at the mouth of Georges River. The recent loss of beach in front of the seawall due to littoral erosion has been caused by the path of the river changing with years of modification to Botany Bay. Past treatment for the bath has involved the use of sand pillows, which will need to be removed before the permanent protection is installed. Several options for protecting the seawall will need to be developed before the client chooses a preferred method of protection. These options are to be provided by June 2026.

The seawall protection in Sandringham bath will also require an AS1428-compliant access (ramp) to enter the water from the shared path at low tide.

The optional portion of the detailed design (for construction) is to extend the existing rock revetment south of the bath, by an additional 110m.
